Victorian Smooth Froglet is one of 8 or 9 species of frogs that inhabit Redman Bluff Wetlands at Grampians Paradise Camping and Caravan Parkland

Victorian Smooth Froglet is one of 8 or 9 species of frogs that inhabit Redman Bluff Wetlands at Grampians Paradise.
They are the earliest frogs to call in the season, starting in early Autumn.
They are usually followed by the Bibrons Toadlet and then the Southern Brown Tree Frogs that begin their calls as the Redman Bluff Wetlands (surrounding Grampians Paradise) begin their annual winter fill.

Southern Brown Tree Frogs call from the ponds of Redman Bluff Wetlands at Grampians Paradise between early winter and early summer.

Pobblebonk frogs breading in Observatory Pond of Redman Bluff Wetlands at Grampians Paradise Camping and Caravan Parkland

1st September 2013: During the peak of the 2013 frog call season, when the Pobblebonk frogs and the endangered Growling Grass Frogs are in full song, these two Pobblebonks are busy laying eggs and fertilising them into the foam raft they have created.

The peak of the frog calls (when the Pobblebonks, Growling Grass Frogs and other species) are in full chorus is a soundscape that has to be heard to be believed – like surround sound frogs! It is short, happing around late August or early to mid September. In dryer years the peak only lasts a week or a little less, very wet years can last 3 weeks.

The endangered Growling Grass Frog calls it’s quite growls during early spring at the same time the Pobblebonks sing their chorus. While heard every year in Redman Bluff Wetlands at Grampians Paradise, I am yet to see the largest of our frogs – the Growling Grass Frog.

The above photo of a Growling Grass Frog was taken by a friend somewhere in Western Victoria in the early 2000's

**** Minimum number of nights for Exclusive Wildlife Stays:

You can stay 2 or 3 nights but the total price will be the same as for a 4 night stay.

there is 3 night minimum stay. You can stay 2 nights but the total price will be the same as for 4 nights.

Longer stays (than the minimum number of nights) are also possible, welcomed and are very much worthwhile.
